CLEANING & WASHING CASHMERE & WOOL
STEP 1
Prepare a container of appropriate size, place the cashmere sweater in warm water (around 30°C) with neutral detergent, and allow it to soak for approximately 15-20 minutes.
STEP 2
Gently squeeze and turn the cashmere sweater, paying special attention to areas that tend to get dirty, such as the neckline and cuffs.
Rinse the cashmere garment repeatedly with clear water at around 30°C until the water runs clear and free of suds, ensuring all detergent is thoroughly rinsed out.
(For noticeable stains like oil or fruit juice, first use a clean soft cloth to lightly dab a small amount of detergent and gently rub the stain.)
STEP 3
After washing, gently press excess water with a towel (do not wring out forcefully). Lay the cashmere garment flat to dry in a well-ventilated, cool area, avoiding direct sunlight.
(During drying, you can appropriately reshape the cashmere garment, such as smoothing out the corners and cuffs, to help it maintain its original shape.)
Pilling Treatment
Cashmere sweaters tend to pill due to their softer fibers. When worn underneath, it is best to pair them with smooth outer garments. When worn on the outside, avoid prolonged friction with external surfaces. If pilling occurs, you can simply cut it off with scissors. For areas with minimal pilling, lay the sweater flat and gently scrape the pilled areas with a lint comb or lint remover to clean off the small fuzz balls.
How to Save
Fold it gently according to the original texture and shape of the garment. For areas prone to deformation, such as the neckline, fold them over a piece of soft paper or cloth to maintain their shape.
Place moth-repelling items, such as natural cedar strips, in the cabinet or box where you store the cashmere garments, but avoid direct contact with the cashmere.
NOTE
Avoid Machine Washing: The strong agitation from a washing machine can severely deform and cause pilling on cashmere products, so always hand wash them.
Separate Washing: If you have cashmere products in different colors, wash them separately to prevent color bleeding.
