How often should I buy lingerie ?

Are you used to change your underwear daily and wash them before wearing the same pair again? But what about the lifespan of your underwear—from a health perspective, is there an optimal point when you should toss your old ones and get a supply of brand-new undies ?

“Your underwear is in close contact with your skin and more specifically your intimate areas for prolonged periods of time,” said cosmetic doctor and intimate health specialist Dr. Shirin Lakhani of Elite Aesthetics in an interview with The Independent. “As a result, it takes in a lot of dead skin from those areas as well as bacteria – both the healthy, naturally-occurring bacteria that we all have, as well as more harmful bacteria that can be a result of infections such as thrush and STIs.” Depending on the method you use to wash your underwear, it's possible some of these could linger following a wash but unlikely. Buying new undies is a solid way to avoid this, then, but it's probably not something you really need to be worrying about if you have access to a washing machine. As a general rule (and the industry-standard), your underwear assortment should be refreshed every six months to a year. Or buy new underwear when it pleases you.

Should you wear a bra to bed ?

There's nothing wrong with wearing a bra while you sleep if that's what you're comfortable with. There are no peer-reviewed medical studies that point to any negative effects from sleeping with a bra. In fact, women with larger breasts who experience significant movement at night may benefit from a bra’s structured fit. “Some women have painful, lumpy breasts, and wearing a soft bra to bed can help limit breast movement while sleeping,” says Dr. Regina Hampton, a board-certified breast surgeon and founder of Breast Care for Washington, D.C.

It’s important to be sure you’re not wearing a bra that’s restrictive. To make sure your bra isn’t too tight, you should be able to slip two fingers between the band and your ribcage. Like a sports bra, a wireless bra

How does it feel to wear silk panties ?

We did some research and summarized the characteristics of silk and people’s answers as follows:

As a natural fiber, silk allows your skin to breathe, By allowing air to circulate, wicking moisture away from the skin and letting it evaporate, and being naturally hypoallergenic and anti-fungal. Whatever the season, silk is a wonderful fabric for adapting to your temperature. When there’s a winter chill in the air, it provides excellent insulation, allowing for warm air to be kept close to your skin, while still having the breathability to avoid uncomfortable overheating. In the height of summer, when you just want to keep cool and fresh, silk is your best friend. As well as all of the benefits of breathability already mentioned, the natural temperature regulating properties and heat dispersal makes it the ideal layer to have closest to your body. A silk panty under your outfit avoids that uncomfortable, sticky feeling that comes from many synthetic materials.

Skin sensitivity

If you have sensitive skin, silk can help you avoid the itchy redness and skin irritation that comes with some synthetic fibers. Some people who suffer from eczema have also reported their symptoms easing when wearing silk, with the addition of the gentle support of our unwired silk bralettes to avoid the tightness of conventional bra shapes.

How To Identify Real Silk ?

Use a lighter to burn the edge of the silk material. The real silk does not see an open flame, and has the smell of burning hair. The ashes become black granular, which can be crushed by hand. Simulated silk, such as rayon (viscose), has a paper-burning smell when burned, showing a little off-white ash; burning polyester will cause flames and black smoke, and after the fire is extinguished, it will appear as hard and black beads.
